So is there any real physical evidence that they have been visiting the Earth, let alone existing at all?
The correct answer is YES.
Whenever there is an alleged UFO landing, there is one damning piece of evidence that says the landing is legitimate or a hoax, and that is radiation. There have been numerous examples of landing sites where the UFO leaves behind a burn mark in the grass, but the soil was tested to be completely sterilized several feet straight down, and the sterilization could only have come from high levels of radiation.
One famous cause if the Rendalsham Forest encounter where a UFO landed and took off. Not only the ground had impressions that were in the pattern of a perfect equilateral triangle, and the impressions were made in hard soil that required a force of several tonnes to compact, but there was radioactivity not only on the ground but on the sides of trees facing the landing site discounting pretty much all sceptical claims.
Rendalsham Forest may be popular in UFOlogy, however by no means is it unique as other landing spots shows the tell tale radiation signs that someone landed there.
