? say: After all science and technology has done to improve my life, no I have no fear. Go live in a 3rd world country for a year or so and get back to us on your opinion of science and technology. It is easy, volunteer with any missionary (humanitarian) organization (secular or religious), they will be happy to send you where you are needed most.

When I left home as a young adult, we relied on expensive long distant phone calls and writing letters to keep in touch and relationships felt distant and you could get homesick. Science has brought us social media so now my kids live across the country but it is like they never left home and we talk and see each other anytime we want. My wife use to have to go into the office but because of the internet that science has brought, works from home which it better, not worse. Because of technology, things are getting easier to do so now we can do more in a given day, which includes more time for relationships. Medicine has more than doubled our life times so we have more time to be with others. Travel has also been made faster and affordable, it no longer takes a month to travel across the U.S..
