What? Like praying to an unprovable, invisible beardy sky goblin?
-
G C say: No. I do miss certain things from the past, but there are new and equally interesting things today.
-
Q&A Queen say: No. Science, working as it truly is, the study of what God created, has done some marvelous things. And will continue to do so.
-
PhotonX say: Thanks to science you live better than a king did a couple of centuries ago. You have electricity and heat and running water in your home. You can travel almost anywhere in the world in a day, and you can hop in a car and travel farther in an hour than a pioneer could have in a week. You have knowledge at your fingertips that any scientist or historian of the past would give an arm for. You have health care unimaginable even a century ago, and many diseases that would have killed your ancestors are a thing of the past, and medications to combat others. You have a steady and reliable supply of dependable food and fresh water. You have entertainment that even your grandparents would have thought were magical when they were kids.
.
How exactly has science dehumanized you?

? say: no

MARK say: Of course science is not dehumanising. Think about all those things in your life that make it better than it would have been two hundred years ago. Your human waste gets flushed down a toilet and you do not have to think about disposing of it, whenever you have used water in a sink, bath or shower you simply allow it to drain away without a thought to what you need to do with it. You have probably been vaccinated against a number of diseases and your own vaccination and that of the majority of the population means you have survived childhood without dying from an infectious disease. You will make use of all modern appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, central heating and many others. All these any more, many more things that could be listed are all fruits of science and they do not dehumanise you.
