There won't be life anymore

Think of the Solar system as a kingdom with the Sun as the King who rules with absolute power (gravity). If the King is suddenly died, there will be civil war with all his sons all vying for power. The most powerful one is Jupiter, so every thing will try to orbit it while Saturn will try to steal some for himself. In the end, most objects in the solar system will either get ejected or crashed into one another, with very few remaining orbit the two giants, which will probably orbit each other into a binary planetary system.

the gravity field expands at the same rate as a electromagnetic radiation. if it is turned off as it would be in this scenario then its influence would remain in place for some time. In the case of the Earth this period would be abouit eight minutes. This means that ther Earth would remain in its orbit for this eight minutes, even without the Sun
We wouldnt know it had disappeared however since we would still also be receiving its light, etc... This period would be longer for planets further away, but for planets closer the period would be shorter, This means that we should see Mercury leaving first and the Venus, Then us !

Oh dear, the answers you received are terrible.
One, we wouldn't know about it for 8.5 minutes, because that's how long it takes for the Sun's light to reach Earth (NOT light years like the other person said).
Second, Earth would stop any orbitable path that it's following now because there would be nothing holding it in orbit. We'd probably just drift into space. Then all photosynthesis would stop, which means all oxygen production would stop, which means all life would die.
It would also become very cold.

Well hypothetically, the sun is light years away, so if the sun were to not come back tomorrow morning it would have exploded years ago, and scientists would have known by now.
-
They'd all take off on straight line trajectories tangent to their orbits at the time the Sun disappeared becuase of the conservation of momentum.
-
all the planets will move away frm their paths , they may go away and something really bad may occur ...
-
Simple it is night there!! So wait for the morning.
-
We would all die 1st then the planets would drift off into the universe
-
dark and very cold and everything on the earth will die.
-
It would just be a cold dark world
