I Figured out how to solve the square root of a number using two methods. I figured it out two years ago, but am sending it now or (planning on it).
*I know the equation works, because it hasn't been wrong and since you multiply in it the equation works with 0 and also 1.

go to see a university professor of math... that will assure your place in the halls of history. But first write it all down and get it dated and postmarked or get it notarised so that you have proof that it is in fact your idea...!

being mathematically inclined myself, there is a very low probability of you coming up with completely new way to solve something especially something as simple as sqrts. That being said there is still a possibility that in fact this is something that is a genuine discovery; however, mathematics is a altruistic field in that equations which people work on for decades cannot be patented or sold, they are merely of truthful value. the best way would be to email your equation to wolfram mathematics, or email the mathematics department of any university in your state. also post it here, why not. it is a mathematical find and you post it first on yahoo answers would definitely earn you some points (which is sadly the most you will get as a mathematician).
