DID I JUST SEE A UFO? please tell me what else this could have been!

It looked JUST like a falling star, only it went up and away instead of down. My husband said it was probably a falling star just falling in a different direction, but I've never heard of that and am skeptical of his explination. I KNOW that no man made flying device like helicopters or fighter jets or air planes can go as fast as that thing was going. We live on a military base close to a small air port so I see all kind of planes taking off all the time, I have a terrible phobia of aliens so please don't feed me the 'dont worry aliens don't exist' bs just please rationally realistically tell me what this thing could have been....

Aliens absolutly exist.. there are millions, billions of planets any maybe some are able to support life and im sure just like us they are also looking for other life...

BUT, there is always an explanation for something like that, It could be many things like space junk falling into orbit, a satellite, meteorite falling down to eat, a shooting star. And even the angle at which you saw it at may have played a part. Unless you actually see a UFO and know for sure its a UFO instead of just a little light zipping across fast, always be a skeptic because its usually not a UFO.
But if it was, thats pretty cool :)

If the path of a meteor were perpendicular to the horizon, you brain might interpret it as going up rather than down. There was a recent confusion of this very sort when a missile was fired from Vandenburg Air Force Base in Southern California.

Yes, you saw a UFO, a flying object that you couldn't identify. Big deal. It was not piloted by extraterrestrial aliens, no matter how much you wish that it WAS piloted by an ET.

It is definitely a UFO.

Shooting stars can appear to go in any direction.
