If we'd have the means to travel to alien planets, should we go

Id say yes, but its mostly out of curiousity. Say wed have the means to go some inhabited earthlike planets, would it be worth it. There would be lots of people complaining about "what business do we have there. shouldnt we settle our earth problems first" Are there any other reasons besides curiousity and romance philosophy and science to go ?? Why did the europeans come to the new world. They got stuff, tobacco, silk, peppers gold diamond jewels and stuff. Would it be beneficial if wed get stuff like that from exotic planets that would be beneficial to humanity.

One thing is for sure .. it won't be those of us who live in a Political systems where questions like these can even be asked, let alone be debated ...

i.e. if anyone goes it will be the Chinese ... and their Government will make the decision ....

Absolutely we should... The discoveries in science would be invaluable.
