B. hotter and more dense
C. cooler and less dense
D. cooler and more dense
B. hotter and more dense
C. cooler and less dense
D. cooler and more dense

The answer is B. Hotter and more Dense.
This is because the universe was all contained within a single point of singularity, with infinite Temperature and density. Moments after the Big Bang the Temperature was still extremely hot, and the universe was still dense, over time the universe cools and expands.

depends on what you mean by "shortly"... arguably it could have been "zero" density cause it was all just expanding energy and "matter" hadnt occured yet.. but as soon as matter started to form it would have been incredibly dense. I think everyone will agree with hotter and MOST will say "more dense"... but it really depends on the formation of matter.
