but not for several more decades. MIT has made a magnetically levitating Frisbee, but no hoverboards yet. There are mag-lev trains being constructed right now in Germany and Japan. I have yet to see shoes that will tie themselves, holographic billboards, flying cars, or hover boards.

Levitating cars are a distinct possibility, but not for several more decades. MIT has made a magnetically levitating Frisbee, but no hoverboards yet. There are mag-lev trains being constructed right now in Germany and Japan. Holographic 3-D billboards or similar devices are currently in use at Walt Disney World. Large flat screen TV's are a reality with 200 or more channels to choose from. Taxi fare is getting very close to $176 for a one way trip. Books with sports statistics from 1980-2010 have been published. I'm not sure if dumptrucks full of manure will be present in 2015, however.
I think the movie was a fairly accurate prediction. Let's see how accurate your prediction will be for 2045(30 years beyond 2015). Let's hear it.

Hi. There is a saying that we (humans) tend to over estimate progress in the short term but underestimate progress in the long term. Look at 2010, the movie, versus where we are with technology (say the iPad2).

the shoes already exist
