Why is x²+2 considered x+1 instead of x+2

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-10-13] [Hit: ]
x^2+2 does not always = x+1 or x+2.If your book says x^2 - 2 = (x-1)(x+1), get a new book.In all kindness, you really need to work on how you describe something.Does this mean the book says x^2 - 2 and then later on says (x-1)(x+1).......
2 square root is 2 not 1. if it was 4 then it would be 2². I don't get it.

What you have written makes no sense. Clarify, please. x^2+2 does not always = x+1 or x+2.

If your book says x^2 - 2 = (x-1)(x+1), get a new book.

In all kindness, you really need to work on how you describe something.

the book says x²-2
(x-1)(x+1)

Does this mean the book says x^2 - 2 and then later on says (x-1)(x+1)... does it mean they are equal? You haven't asked a logical question. I am not trying to offend you, it was my plan to help.

??? I don't understand either. But I'm curious what you're asking . . .
