What is the point of wild animal performances

It might happen, but why not just let him be a kid?Why turn wild animals into clowns? Why not just let them at least act like wild animals?-Money is the primary reason, since no one is going to start a business that cannot turn a profit,......
In training wild animals to do tricks? If a species needs rehabilitated, fine, keep in the zoo and let it live a semi-normal life. But tricks? What's the point? Can someone please tell me what the point is? Why not just stick to training species that have been domesticated for years?

Sure places like Sea World, and circuses claim they are kind to their animals. Fine, but what in the world is the point of them doing tricks in the first place? It's not natural to them. It's complete pointless nonsense. It's like trying to teach a toddler to be more like an adult. It might happen, but why not just let him be a kid? Why turn wild animals into clowns? Why not just let them at least act like wild animals?

Money is the primary reason, since no one is going to start a business that cannot turn a profit, unless of course you inherited billionaires from your ancestors or you have access to funds from other companies you also own, even if you don't own 100% of them. I guess that is called embezzlement if you divert funds from a company you don't own fully to another company. But that is another topic totally.

Entertainment is also why football, basketball, baseball and hockey teams and leagues exist. The athletes are also taught to entertain people with their skills. Of course, nowadays, many wild animal parks, zoos, and circuses are also involved in conservation, because it is increasingly difficult to simply catch a wild animal to replace one that has died in captivity. While an animal is in captivity, it is useful to train them, because they can be easier to handle if they are used to interacting with people. For example, some captives can be trained to do things that make it easier for vets to examine and even treat them. Some captives in fact are so trusting of their human handlers that one can inject them with medicine or even remove their young without them acting violently. So, training is not 100% done for entertainment purposes. Besides, some captives (especially those that are in zoos) can be used for experiments. For example a trained elephant can tell its keeper whether it has heard a low frequency sound in order to test the hypothesis that elephants can hear the low frequency sound that are emitted during or shortly before an earthquake. Such an experiment would be difficult, if not impossible, if we try to use wild elephants or untrained captives. Training also relieves boredom that is experienced for captives, especially the more intelligent captives.
