virus, or other microbe. Fimbriae are little hair-like things coming off of the surface of a microbe that are used to hang onto surfaces or other microbes. If a bacteria has fimbriae, it usually has many of them that coat the surface.Hope this helps!......
how are they different? and is the capsule only for plants and fimbria only for bacteria?

-
Plants can have capsules, but bacteria can have them, too. As far as I know, plants don't have fimbriae (but they can be coated in tiny hairs).

Talking in microbial terms, a capsule is a protective layer around a bacterium, virus, or other microbe. Fimbriae are little hair-like things coming off of the surface of a microbe that are used to hang onto surfaces or other microbes. If a bacteria has fimbriae, it usually has many of them that coat the surface.

Hope this helps!
