2. (2x2 – 23x + 63) ÷ (x – 7) (1 point)

3.Let f(x) = 4x3 + 7x2 – 13x – 3 and g(x) = x + 3. Find (1 point)

4. Let f(x) = 3x3 – 4x – 1 and g(x) = x + 1. Find (1 point)
5. Let f(x) = x4 – 8x3 + 16x2 – 19 and g(x) = x – 5. Find (1 point)

6. Create your own third degree polynomial that when divided by x + 2 has a remainder of –4. (2 points)

7.Create your own division of polynomials problem. Demonstrate how this problem would be solved using both long division and synthetic division. (3 points)

ive tried learning this and i just dont get it. and its due today! Help please! thanks

it is just like long division

x____5____
x+8|x^2+13x+40
-(x^2+8x)
5x+40
-(5x+40)
0

1) x+5
2) 2x-9
not sure what to find for 3,4,5, so please explain
6) create a arbitrary 3rd degree polynomial and split it up
(ax^3+bx^2+cx+d)/(x+2)=(ax^3+bx^2)/(x+…
part 1 part 2
determine what a, b, c, d based on division to have no remainder for part 1 and a remainder of -4 for part 2
a=1, b=2, c=1, d=-2
then substitute these values in to form
x^3+2x^2+x-2

7.)To form our own problem lets start out with clean numbers so that the problem stays clean all the way through.
lets start with a factored polynomial like
(x+3)(x-4)(x-1)=(x^2-x-12)(x-1)=(x^3-x…
this gives a good polynomial to work with since we know it is divisible by (x+3), (x-4), (x-1)

now we can make the problem
(x^3-2x^2-11x+12)/(x-1)

and we already know both answers since we already computed both of them
using long division we know that it = x^2-x-12
using synthetic division it = (x+3)(x-4)

for numbers one and two, you need to factor out the first trinomial in order to simply the expression. you should know how to factor since it's algebra 1.
for numbers 3, 4, and 5, you should treat it as two variable equation.
i'm still on algebra one so i'm not so sure about 6+7
