Okay I forgot how to add fractions when the denominators are different. And then one its all added I need to find the square root of it to find the trig functions. Here's my problem : 9/16 + 25/36

-
To add fractions find the common denominator:
Note that 16 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2
and 36 = 2 * 2 * 3 * 3

therefore you need 2^4 * 3^2 = 144 for the LCD

Build the fractions: 9(9)/16*9 + 25(4)/36(4) = 81/144 + 100/144
Add the numerators and keep the denominator: 181/144

now take the square root of the numerator and the denominator:

sqrt(181/144) = sqrt(181)/12
