The Sun will never explode. It doesn't have enough mass. It will turn into a red giant, which is not even close to an explosion, after that it will shed its outer layers (still not an explosion) which will form a nebulae, the Sun will then shrink, definitely not an explosion, into a white dwarf which is what it will remain. I have no interest in seeing it. I really don't have any desire to live to be 5 billion years old.

Our Sun will not and cannot explode. It falls well below the Chandrasekhar Limit, the minimum mass for a single star to explode, which is 4.2 solar masses..
The Sun will start to move off the Main Sequence in about 1.2 billion years, evolve into a red giant, and finally collapse into a white dwarf in about 4 billion years.

Red Giants do not explode.

According to the Theories, it is impossible for our Sun to explode,
unless the USAF reads Tom Bearden's books upside-down,
and do something typically stupid.

In a few million years the sun will expand and devour our planet and we won't be able to see it since we all will die of heat a long time before :P

But it would be spectacular to see it though, the sun would cover like 2/3 of the sky

The sun is not massive enough to explode. And the only way to see it become a red giant is if you live for another billion years!

No, I doubt anybody will be alive then! About 4.5 billion years from now.
