Basically 3 members of my family just witnessed a bright light below the moon moving in squiggles and shooting zig zag across the full moon lit sky.
To be honest, I live in the desert, there are military bases all around. I know they could just be testing stuff.
Should I ignore this, or should I report this?

Basically, eyewitness testimony is the least credible of all the evidences. You need some sort of documentation (clear video, clear photograph) or physical evidence (something left behind by your sighting) and even then, every more rational explaination will need to be eliminated before your beleif is addressed. Since you live near a military base, Occam's Razor suggests you probably witnessed an Air Force test flight.

if you want to report it, you can, the rest of the world already knows ET's exist, and those who don't believe so live under a rock...nothing new, but the government may want to know...otherwise just the nonemergency police station...and they'll direct you to the right people?

Call the local police, the FBI regional office,or the NSA (National Security Agency), but don't be surprised when no one listens to you. You need credibility of some kind before any one will take what you say seriously.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs.
Unless you have better evidence than word of mouth, just ignore it.
