?Please explain thoroughly. I stink at math.-Look at the graph and then at the functions.y = 2^x........
It is only one question.
Here's a picture of the problem.

I do not know what to choose and why, because I don't understand it. I know it is something called an asymptote??
Please explain thoroughly. I stink at math.

Look at the graph and then at the functions.
y = 2^x.... Can you think of any value of x that would be under the x-axis (ie negative)? Is any part of the graph above the x-axis? So, it's not this one
what about y = 2^(-x)? That's the same as y = 1/(2^x) is any part of it below the x-axis? So, it's not this one

What about y = x^2 - 2? This is a parabola with the u shape upwards. SO, it's not this one.

and finally, y = - 2^x. 2^x is always positive, so -2^x is always negative. it fits the shape give in the graph, so it's this one!
