Describe the development of the female (carpel) and male (stamen) parts of the flower from the time the flower opens until the seed matures in the ovary.

Being a botanist, I can state this is a poorly written question! First, the flowers bis not male or female. FlowErs are sporophyte tissue. The true male is only the pollen grain. The female is only the ovule contained in the ovary of the flower. By the time the flower opens, these two structures are already developed. Once the flower is opened pollen is transferred to the stigma of the carpels. The pollen grain germinates forming a pollen tube growing through the style. When the tube penetrates the ovule the pollen tube nucleus has divided forming two sperm nuclei. One nucleus fuses with the egg. The other one fuses with two nuclei in the center of the ovule. The fertilized nucleus becomes the zygote and eventually the seed. The other becomes the endosperm which supports the developing seed. The carpels become the fruits.
