I'm in 5th grade taking algebra and there is one question that doesn't make ANY sense to me. It is: y= negative 4x if x is negative 8. The only problem I have is that what do I do with negative 4 and negative 8, do I add it or something?
-
do you mean:
y = -4x
for x = -8
in this case, replace x by its value in the equation to find y:
y = -4(-8) = 32
is that it ?
y = -4x
for x = -8
in this case, replace x by its value in the equation to find y:
y = -4(-8) = 32
is that it ?
-
y = -4x
If x is -8,
y
= -4(-8)
= 32
If x is -8,
y
= -4(-8)
= 32
