Help with algebra homework? Calculator question

:/-I have to use the change of base formula first,log(base 5)(30) = log(base 10)(30) / log(base 10)(5),and then find log(30) and log(5) using my calculator.-if the v is a symbol for multiply, im guessing itll be 5^6=30, since u need 5 and 6 to make 30,......
I don't really understand how to use the calculator to solve 5^x=30.
We're learning about logarithms, so I know it can be changed to log(5)30=x. But how do I punch it in my calculator to find x? Can anyone help please? :/

I have to use the change of base formula first, which in this case would give

log(base 5)(30) = log(base 10)(30) / log(base 10)(5),

and then find log(30) and log(5) using my calculator.

if the " v" is a symbol for multiply, im guessing it'll be 5^6=30, since u need 5 and 6 to make 30, but still, idk what the "v" supposed to stand for,
