I need help figuring this problem out: 4/9y - 6 = 2

4/9y = 8
9y= 1/2
y=1/18

edit2: Everyone is doing 1/y and forgetting to flip it. The answer is 1/18

4/9y - 6 = 2
4/9y = 8

Multiply both sides by 9/4:
y=8*9/4
y=72/4
y=18

4/9y - 6 = 2
4/9y = 8
1/9y = 2
y = 18

y=18
