97 / cos(23)-Assuming its 23 degrees then your calculator should be able to work this out.x=4.......
How to solve this trigonometric equation?
The topic is new to me, hasn't been taught yet, and I know nothing about this sh**, which makes it all the more frustrating.

How would I solve cos(23) = 4.97/x ?

I have to find x.

Thank you in advance. (By the way, how would I know what cos[23] is?)

-
What's the issue?

x= (4.97/(cos(23)))

You can't solve it by hand. A calculator will give you the answer.

-
cos(23) = 4.97/x Multiply both sides by X

Xcos(23)=4.97 Divide by Cos(23)

X= 4.97/cos(23)

-
Just use your calculator to find cos(23).

ans

x = 4.97 / cos(23)

-
Assuming it's 23 degree's then your calculator should be able to work this out.
so

x=4.97/cos(23)
