All year I've been trying to find a fave animal, and I've FINALLY narrowed it down to two. This time, I want your help. Its between chimp and gorilla. I LOVE APES, but I hate orangutans and gibbons, and also love group living animals. I like animals that are tough, but loving. I love ones that have little sun (I hate the sun) and are lazy. I hate animals that swing in trees (or atleast ALL THE TIME) and I love one that are actually like animal (a con for chimps) I love intelligent, slightly aggressive but also calm animals, that aren't afraid to defend their family. Please help, and have it be between chimp and gorilla

I had trouble choosing my favorite animal once. for me it was between the african wild dog and the African lion. I think you can tell which one I choose judging by my name. I say its the gorilla. Chimpanzees are too unstable and violent for you. They will kill each other in territorial disputes, eat the young of their rival and are unpredictable. Chimpanzees can switch from calm to deadly in about an instant and they dwell in trees more often than gorillas. They have many human like qualities include the warlike and quick to anger side of humans. Gorillas are gentle giants. They are calm and love to sit around and just eat leafy foliage. They try to avoid physical violence in confrontations with each other and use intimidation instead. They are intelligent (not to the extent of chimpanzees though). A male silver back will do anything even sacrifice his life to defend his family. This is why sadly when they try to protect their troops from poachers they are the first to die. There has also been record of a gorilla dying in a fight to defend his troop from a leopard (the leopard died as well).
