Ok, so the question is: what is 40% of 250?

I did 40 over 250 and X over 100, i cross multiplied and my answer was: 16.
The problem is, my choices are:
a)50
b)100
c)150
d)200

what am i doing wrong? No, I am not asking you to do my homework for me. I just want to know what is the correct procedure to do this. Please and thank you!

just do .40 x 250

and it's 40%/100% = X/250

Hi

Simply to find the percentage of any number ' X ', multiply the percentage quantity by the number X and divide by ' 100 '.

So, in your case: 40% of 250 = (40)*(250) / 100 = 100

So answer ' b ' is correct

Hope that is clear, Good luck and Bye

Please rate my answer.

Something really easy you can do is just multiply 250 by .40. You will get your answer to be 100.

Or you can take 40/100=x/250

Cross multiply

100x=10000
x=100

Hope this helps :D

250 x .40 =100

just put the decial point in the front of the % number and multiply by the other number.
