How do you factor 7a^2+36a+5

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-10-12] [Hit: ]
you just have to figure it out.-If variable a is being difficult for you to factor the function, then you can switch the variable to x if you like.Here,......
and it explain

-
(7a+1) (a+5)

7a x a= 7a^2
7a x 5=35a and a x 1= 1a you add them together to get 36a
5 x 1= 5

To factor start with two sets of parenthesis your first number in each one should multiply to be the 7^2. The second number should be able to multiply with the first number of the opposite set and then be added to make 36a. The second number in each set should be able to add to become 5.

I hope this helps abd makes sence to you. Good luck

You start by factoring the first term 7a^2. 7 is prime so it's factors are 1 and 7.
Next find the factors of the last term, 5, also prime, 1 and 5.
Now put those number into the form ( X+ #)(X + #) to "make it work." You remember FOIL right?
There's not short cut in the last step, you just have to figure it out.

Here, I am keeping the function and its variable
so 7a^2 + 36a + 5 = (7a + 1) (a+5)

-
(7a+1)*(a+5)

-
252a^3+7
