I am doing word problems and I am given that the diameter is 24 inches. How am I supposed to find the amplitude for a sinusoidal function? Is the amplitude the same as the radius 12 inches?

Yes. If the round object were spinning, any point on the perimeter (equator) would be traversing a sine wave vs. time of 12 inches peak amplitude.
