I've read the Wikipedia page for an enigma machine to try to figure out how rotors, work, but it was really confusing.
Can somebody explain the rotors a little more simply? Thanks!

In old mechanical typewriters, pressing one key in turn hit a lever, which pushed up the corresponding letter to be typed.
The enigma machine worked the same except that between the lever parts was a spinning rotor with grooves to cause an indirect key-press to type (thus code).
