Why does compass point north south but dead bodies point east west?
is it because they lost electromagnetism

answers:
busterwasmycat say: dead bodies do not orient east-west, to put it simply. no why to something that does not happen.
-
Cheesy say: I've made arrangements to be buried at a weird angle, with nine miles of copper wire wound tightly around my penis.
-
virtualguy92107 say: You haven't checked enough cemetaries or you've read too many "paranormal posts."
-
ignoramus say: This is posted in the wrong section. You want the category for deranged lunatics.

digquickly say: Well, ..., a compass points to Earth's Magnetic North because it contains a small magnetic field that seeks to align itself with Earth's Magnetic field. The issue with the way the dead are buried is purely religious or cultural. It has nothing to do with Magnetism. In cultures where the "East" or "West" are not revered the dead are buried in all manner of orientation.

Tom say: Well, the Earth has a magnetic field oriented "North-South" so the magnets align with it.

But the dead Bod ting is an old Religious tradition--- On the resurrection Jesus will come in from the EAST so the dead bodies will "wake up" facing him when they arise.-----Also EAST was at the top of the maps in Roman times rather than NORTH.--It all corresponds to SUNRISE
-
quantumclaustrophobe say: The compass points north/south due to the Earth's magnetic field; and, it's not *true* north they point to, but Earth's magnetic poles which aren't *at* the poles of the Earth's axis.
Burying people east/west is a religious tradition.
-
dewcoons say: Sounds like you are referring to the custom of burying people so that they are aligned east to west. Christians do this because of Jesus' statement that his return would be seen from the east to west. So burying that way aligns the bodies to be better able to resurrect and join him.
