John say: animals eat people all the time. big predators like bears, lions, and tigers have no qualms about it if they have an opportunity. but many animals fear humans because they've learned how dangerous we are with our tools like guns and spears.

Mr. say: Well, some animals can and have eaten humans, it just doesn't happen often. And I'm not gonna answer this question with morality, just common sense. We are at the top of the food chain. So to be blunt, we eat them because we can. They don't eat us often, because they can't.
