Why is Neil Armstrong more famous than Buzz Aldrin

hardly no one has ever heard of the latter...

I personally think that they should both be equally as famous, but Neil Armstrong was technically the very first person to step foot on the moon. Even though buzz was just a few minutes later, he wasn't the first.

Buzz was much more engrossed in media than Neil ever was. So I will argue against that. Also, everytime I have learned about Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin was Always mentioned right along with him.

Buzz Aldrin was always a hero of mine as a kid. I never really knew much about Neil.

AND.... Buzz Aldrin punched that Lunatic "Faked Moon Landing" Conspirist in the street! That is an American Hero for you!

It might be important to note that Armstrong pulled rank (as mission commander) over Aldrin (LEM pilot) and demanded that he step out first. The NASA script called for the pilot to exit first. Aldrin and Armstrong were estranged for a long time because of that.

A lot of people have heard of Buzz. The reason Neil is more famous was the space race was to the moon and he was the first to walk on it.
