The CMB is the limit to what we can see of the universe. If we are ever going to get any information about what is on the other side of the CMB, it will have to come from the CMB itself unless a few of the black hole theories are true (the ones that say they are the backsides of white holes that form other universes). There are some interesting features to the CMB that might someday further our understanding of what the universe really is. For example, the cold spot might be evidence of another universe nearby.
The bubble universe is one of several theories.

A spherical bubble, tests say no, but that's from what we can test currently right now. we use trigonometry to put two points at both ends of the cosmic microwave background radiation and the third on Earth and the angles create a perfect triangle meaning the CMBR is flat. Since we know that we are in a 3-dimensional universe that means that the "bubble" we are in is a square or rectangle.

Our universe is not in a bubble but is a bubble among others.

You know that the answer is Yes. And it's not literally a bubble, it's just a way for us to wrap our brains around it more easily.
