The heat evolved in neutralisation of NaOH by HCL is 'x' joules and that of NaOH by CH3COOH is 'y' joules. Which of the follows is true?
a] x=y
b] x>y
c] x

NaOH and HCL are strong base and strong acid respectively so more heat is evolved, while NaOH and CH3COOH are strong base and weak acid respectively so heat evolved will be less ..............answer is b..................Strong acids and bases react explosively so heat produced is always larger while weak base and weak acids react moderately, heat produced is not that large.
