What would you do if a comet was going to hit the earth

and kill everyone in an hours time from now?

No matter where you were on earth you would die. Only those who could go into space in a rocket would survive. The atmosphere would be filled with molten burning fire. What would you do? Everything from bottom over ocean to the highest mountain would be destroyed. How would you spend the last minutes of your life? What if you couldn't get to those you loved in time to say goodbye. Would you run into the streets and panic?

i would hold onto my family and not let them go

A comet is mostly ices and some rocks. Everyone on Earth would NOT die. The only deaths would be in areas where the rocks managed to impact the surface and where people are not smart enough or informed enough to try to get out of the way.

This is a prime example of scientific ignorance and illiteracy creating unnecessary panic and hysteria.

Kind of a moot question isn't it? Kill yourself now and avoid the rush, or not and watch it unfold around you.

Luckily, something that massive would be detected years in advance and you would have plenty of time to figure out what to do.

Think huge.

First I would gather my wife and kids. Next, thing I would do is contact as many friends and family as possible. Might be difficult since all the phone and internet networks would be jammed. Last, I would go to my place of worship and wait it out. Preferably, I would find a spot where the end would be swift.

I would run to the nearest telephone and call Jarvis Geranium, the world's best Comet Terminator.
