You are generalizing about atheists based on the answers of a select few.
The point about life on earth has nothing to do with atheism.
Depending on your definitions, atheism and agnosticism are not mutually exclusive. As I and many other "atheists" use these words atheism is about what you do or do not believe, while agnosticism is about what you know or claim to know. In that sense I am both an atheist and an agnostic.
