Cal King say: It is not faith, but confidence in scientific evidence that life evolved right here on earth. Scientists do not have answers to every question. In fact, we know a lot less than we do not know. We keep an open mind, and we continue to look for evidence. We are nevertheless skeptical about claims that are not backed up by scientific evidence, such as those claims made by preachers and/or religious texts.

Jake say: I m a follower of Christ and am starting off my answer with that. This is, regardless of what you want to call it, a matter of Creation verse Evolution. It s a very old and highly debated topic. Coming in with things like "Abiogenesis" is a cop-out way for saying evolution. But even more than that, because now your saying a rock with a little help from a couple mixtures of chemicals or environmental changes, etc... can become a breathing and living thing.
We are jumping to the topic of life without first addressing how the universe was made. To the best of our knowledge, we believe in either The Big Bang, or Creation. That s pretty much the debate. With the Big Bang you run across the topic of evolution and all that fun stuff. With Creation you run into well how did God come into existence, or evolution came after God made the Earth.
My friends, I have never seen an explosion create something beautiful and with such complexity. I have never seen a lifeless object come to life and breath oxygen. I have never seen a change in kind with evolution (one kind of animal, dog, into a bird).
Those mentioned above are all impossible, unless there is a miracle. And a miracle is only caused by a Superficial occurrence, (God). For the Atheists who argue how we can have faith in something not proven, I counter that argument with saying "You have more faith in believing everything was created from nothing, rather than a Creator created everything." And that, by the way, something made from nothing is a scientific impossibility.
