I read Steve Vera's post on the big orb in which Tim replied and that's how I got here. I find it interesting that you can have an out of body experience and still be awake! I want to learn more! Like how do you do that? Every time I have one I am asleep and I wake up terrified. Can some one enlighten me?

Its actually easier to astral travel while awake, because you are in control. You put yourself into the meditative state and step out, whereas when you are asleep your unconciouss is in control, and you could end up anywhere!

I suppose anything imagined could be possible. In my experience an OBE and Astral Projection are exactly the same. As far as being "awake" that usually computes to being consciously asleep - (being aware that you are asleep and your astral body is out of coincidence with the physical). Now if by what you're meaning is to control the physical body while the astral is projected...that would be difficult. A more sensible technique is to aquire the skill of poly-visualization where you can witness the physical with the astral superimposed in the same view, and even that, the faculties of the physical body are usually incapacitated or impaired due to the concentrative effort.

Unfortunately, no. It doesn't work when you're sleeping either. They are just dreams.
