I ask because a term was mentioned in the ScyFy series Alphas this week. The show tries to maintain reality as much as it could, and this particular mention was in a naturalistic sense, not a sci-fi sense.
The character of Dr. Rosen was explaining the normal human ability to sense when someone is staring at you. (i.e., not as some stretch of the imagination superpower, but as normal people have it) I can not remember what he called it, and have been unable to find it through web searches.

I know of no such sense, or at least I must be missing it.
We do have more than five, though.
We have one that tells if we are upright or leaning.
We have the ability to reach around and touch an ear without looking.

No you cannot detect when people are looking at you.
Think about it, how would it be possible? The observer's eye would have to transmit some sort of signal that the person observed could perceive.
If you turned around and caught a surveillance team staring at you I guess you would have the feeling of being watched, but until you looked around and caught them at it you would have no idea.

Alphas is an American science **fiction** dramatic television series

I don't have the answer, but I really can't imagine ourselves having more than the 5 senses we have. It's like imagining the fourth dimension in your mind (I don't mean time).
About the balance, that's based on feeling, and has something to do with the fluids inside your ears or other parts of your body being uneven, or unbalanced.
And the ear thing, that's most likely just muscle memory.
If I were to say anything, it'd be peripheral vision, but yet I don't know.

Paranoia. Of course we know why someone "gets a feeling of being watched" when under surveillance and the watchers look at him or her. They see several people LOOKING AT THEM which doesn't happen on a random basis. Please note that science fiction is FICTION, which means that it is not true.
