Chemistry: question about IUPAC name..

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-08-27] [Hit: ]
which would be 3+ probably since the whole thing is neutral.-Hexaaminechromium(III) hexacyanidoferrate(III).......
give the IUPAC name of this:
(Cr(NN3)6) (Fe(CN)6)

*Hexaamminechromium(3)hexacyanoferrate…

is this correct?
ps: using roman letters.

-
Assuming you mean (Cr(NH3).....
Then yes, hexaamminechromium(III) hexacyanoferrate(III) is correct.

-
im studying the same subject atm for coordination chemistry, you end in ferrate. but if this is the whole complex, then surely it is not negative so why would it be ferrate?

also you forgot the charge on the Fe, which would be 3+ probably since the whole thing is neutral.

-
Hexaaminechromium(III) hexacyanidoferrate(III).
