I have to choose one topic among these to research and understand in considerable detail.
Cancer (be specific), Cystic Fibrosis, Down Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Genetic Engineering, Gene therapy, DNA fingerprinting, Conservation genetics, Selective Breeding, and Genetically Modified Foods
Or I there is another topic that isn't on the list, you can list them too. (though preferably use one of the above options)
Which would you choose and why? 10 Points for most info.

it depends on if there is a minimum amount of research you must do. are we talking a paper here or a presentation? If it was simply a presentation, i would definitely go with Down Syndrome because i feel like it is the simplest to understand at a basic level. it is simply the presence of an extra chromosome. starting with a simple subject is easier to research, because there tends to be fewer factors that you need to know about; you can comfortably go in depth on all of the factors.
just my personal experience. good luck!

if i were being lazy i would go with something more neuroscience
something like the nigrostriatal pathway, it's links to Parkinson's and addiction
because it's more familiar
but if i wanted to learn something i would go with genetically modified foods
because i would be wanting to prove my bias
i think that this has direct links to current trends in obesity prevalence
and maybe risk of heart disease
two of the major causes of deaths in US currently
that way i could either show myself to be wrong, or not
i could either confirm my belief, or not

well cancer or selective breeding just because you can find a lot of information on those and it is easy to find info on those subjects.
