I know - this is a weird question ( and no, I am not asking it just because I am bored) I want a real answer. So, here we go. If you have a miscarriage or an abortion, and the fetus is but a few months old, would doctors be able to determine the DNA of the fetus; thus determining who the parents are?
REAL answers (only serious people, please) would be appreciated.
Thanks :)

It can absolutely be done. All you need is one cell to get a complete DNA profile.

Yes the genes are combined at the instant of fertilization. I don't know the extent of technology we have for this, because I have never studied it. But it is true that the DNA mixes at fertilization. The embryo would not be able to grow if the DNA was not from both parents.

Sure. Once sperm meets ovum, you've got an organism, and every cell has DNA. If you can get a hold of the tissue, you could test it.

It certainly would be possible.
