.it is made in china :( the only one that was available at the store. I am planning on getting a new telescope soon if this one gets a low rating from you.-Well, ........
I have been interestd about the space ever since I was a kid. few years ago I got too excited and I bought my first telescope without even knowing what I was buying> I need u to tell me how good/bad my telescope is. I feel that the magnification it gives is fair enough, but the mounting is VERY shaky and it does not moves smoothly AT ALL. I dont know if I did something wrong in the assembly. The ViewFinder is also worthless coz I cant even get it fixed at one place.

My telescope details:

Well, ..., I'm afraid that is a fairly low quality scope and you should consider buying a decent scope. You've already noted that the mount is shaky. Additionally the aperture (largest opening) is only 60mm. You could frankly do better with a pair of 10x50 Binoculars.

When considering a first scope I suggest that you watch the following video on how to select a first time telescope: http://www.mycarolinatoday.com/2010/08/t…

You should, also, read the following article. It will give you some information on how telescopes work, as well as, additional buying tips: http://www.raleighastro.org/observing/ge…

For more advice I would suggest that you contact your local astronomy club. You don't have to own a telescope to join! Joining your local astronomy club is the best way to nurture your passion for astronomy. Plus, you'll find that they'll be able to provide you lots of great advice and support for acquiring and operating a telescope.
