Differences in cultures...?
Well, satellites are launched with certain missions in mind - spying, weather charting, mapping, communications,or science fact-finding... Probably every 'culture' uses the information from each of these types of satellites in a similar way; The spy/surveillance satellites are used by the governement/military types... the weather and mapping satellites are used by governments and services to alert the public to their environment. Communication satellites vary a bit - some governments don't *want* their people to know everything, and try to limit the amount of incoming data - which, I guess, is a cultural difference...
