I want to get a miniature southdown lamb.
But instead of having a flock of lamb/sheep, i want just a single one. It could live in my home with me (its huge, and im the only person that lives here), so the lamb & i could be our own flock... But do sheep eat EVERYTHING like goats do?
And if that's not possible then I suppose I could get 2, maybe a castrated male and a female (ewe) and keep them in my back yard. It's really big & I don't have any poisonous plants around... I'd spend lots of time with them & socialize them well...

1. Check the laws of your area. They may not allow "livestock" as pets.
2. Sheep cannot be potty trained or house trained. They will poo everywhere and will urinate everywhere. Will you be okay with this?
3. First, goats don't actually eat everything :) Goats are like human babies in that they'll nibble an object in order to get information about it. Sheep nibble too.
4. Sheep really, really, really need to have at least one other lamb (or even goat) companion. They will freak out if they're left alone for even a minute or two (believe me). They are some of the most nervous, scared animals ever! I do have to say though, even with two, if you spend time with them they will quickly bond with you. Sheep love being scratched behind the ears, and they love treats.
5. Food can get expensive... and will you have somewhere you can go to buy livestock feed? Special note: sheep can only eat foods made for sheep! Other livestock feeds (like those made for cows, horses, goats, etc) contain copper, which will KILL a sheep within a day or two.
If, after doing lots of good research, you feel that these guys are the right pet for you, I'd say go for it! :)

Why not? - it`s not illegal. If some people have pigletts, snakes, lizzards, & Burmese Pythons as pets, why couldn`t you have a pet lamb?..But you must take care of it, feed it, sweep the "grapes" it drops & comb its wool/hair.

If you live on a farm then yes. A "pet lamb" Is indeed very cute but it will grow up, get lonely and.. Die.

You would have to check with the town where you live to find out the rules about keeping farm animals.
