8)^2 + (-2596.2 - 4390.Then got: = square root (1145.7)^2 + (-6986.Final answer: 7079.I did the saaaaame exact effing thing,......
I know this looks like a lot, but I am getting incredibly discouraged right now and I shouldn't be cause I know I am not this dumb, so please take a lil time and guide me through it!

Here's the formula: D = square root of ((x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2)

I am so lost, so I am referring back to my Trig book and figuring out how to do this. So this is an example from the book and my answer is not matching up with it.

To shorten it, these are the points: (1131.8, 4390.2) and (2277.5, -2596.2)
The book did this: d = square root (2277.5 - 1131.8)^2 + (-2596.2 - 4390.2)^2
Then got: = square root (1145.7)^2 + (-6986.4)^2
Final answer: 7079.7

I did the saaaaame exact effing thing, but I got -5840.7?!?!?
What the hell?!
Please help me! I don't know what I did wrongggg! It has to do something with the square root of the answers, but I have no idea what to do! Please help! :(

(1145.7)^2 + (-6986.4)^2
On this step you must take to the second power individually, then add them and the final step is the square root, It looks like you just subtracted 6986.4 and 1145.7

1,312,628.49 + 48,809,784.96 you should get these numbers and try again

Maybe you hit the wrong button on your calculator? I dunno, it's kinda hard to help you without showing us the work you did to get the answer that you got.

Edit:
The way you have it set up is correct. You probably just hit the wrong button on your calculator.
