I suggest you try and convince them to leave, and if they won't and you don't feel safe, then you leave. Even if Hurricane Irene may not be as bad as the media is making it seem, it's better to be safe than sorry.

People tend to get attached to the places they live in or grew up in but if it comes to survival then you have to try and convince them to leave or leave without them.

Survival is everything.

Ive been in Katrina, Ike and Rita. Best choice is to evacuate.. just in case. I doubt you want to wake up to your town destroyed and flooded without power for weeks.. Please do evacuate.. if it is not too late for you at this point.

You guys need to leave even if it isnt mandatory for you. Take your valuables, fill prescriptions, take some snacks and water and find a shelter or hotel inland and at higher ground.

U should convince ur family to evacuate, if I was recommended to evacuate then my family would. But if u don't then don't worry cause it might not be that bad!

You'll be fine, by the time it hits it'll probably be down to a category 1 or a tropical storm.
