Hurricane is VERY serious. On almost every news channel you watch there will be information and warnings about hurricane irene. Hurricane irene can sertainly bad damage to the city. Our state (NY) is a state of emergancy, the governor and mayor of towns and cities are asking people to evacuate or be prepared now and immediately. Seriously, people are making Hurricane Irene sound MUCH worse than it is.
I'd say .01% chance of a skyscraper being knocked down by a category 1 hurricane.
However, it will cause flooding, and might do minor damage, such as windows being shattered.

A large earthquake would knock skyscrapers down here easily. This soon to be cat.1 storm isn't going to do anything besides, possibly, some minorl damage (cracked windows or low level flooding). It isn't like a tornado where the wind is concentrated
