I live in the Chester County area of Pennsylvania (near the border of Maryland and Delaware and about an hour and a half away from Philly) and I wanted to know the severity of the wind and flooding.
Around 50-80 MPH? Rainfall accumulation or flash flooding that will destroy property?
Will it be as bad as the weather channel predicted it to be?
Also, I have a cousin that lives in a mobile home and I was wondering if it's unsafe to be in one during the storm.
I'm worried that it'll be flipped over by a huge gust of wind while she's in it.
Sorry guys for the paranoia, it's just that these kinds of storms rarely happen on the northeast. :c

There is a flood watch for Chester County but currently no tropical storm or hurricane warnings. Irene is a very big storm with heavy rains and pretty strong winds. With the ground so wet already in that area, there is definitely a threat of flooding, so stay on the upper floors and make your sister come with you and leave he mobile home. Buy supplies, nonperishable food, bottled water, etc. and be prepared to have no power for a prolonged period.
My prayers are with the people living in the northeast and hope that this isnt nearly as bad as expected.

Meteorologist saying Penn should not be affected too much. Flooding and winds can of course, destroy property but I don't think it will reach that severity. The weather channel, in my opinion seems to be exaggerating with the catastrophic imagery considering this is not a major hurricane. To be on the safe side, I would advise your cousin needs to leave her mobile home. Hurricanes sometimes spawn tornadoes. Your paranoia is completely understood, considering 'The Day After Tomorrow' imagery on tv! But all in all, I do not think the storm will be severe. Better safe than sorry, though!
