Yes it will. I live in CT I.m guessing you do also. It will start raining overnight Saturday and get worse Sunday morning before getting better overnight Sunday.

Yep, Hurricane targeted five major states
North carolina, New jersey, New york, connecticut (boston, Philadelphia? etc
Irene is expected make a direct hit on the Connecticut shoreline Sunday afternoon with drenching rains, hurricane-force winds and high tides, then possibly cut a path through the state. According to Fox CT Meteorologist Geoff Fox, the damage is likely to include downed trees, low-slung power lines and flooding, but could be much worse.
Sunday night they expect most of the state to be without power.

You need to track what is happening. http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/ is one site that will give you lots of information about what the storm is doing without all the hoopla I'm sure your local TV is giving you. If you think you are going to be hit with something serious, take the proper precaustions. If you don't know what to do or dont' feel safe, leave. It's a great time to visit friends and relatives that live inland. Here they expect us when bad weather is coming.
