The storm is scaring me

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-08-25] [Hit: ]
not so much tornadoes and hurricanes, or earthquakes (I hope)!-Just keep up with the news and use common sense. The storm should dissipate significantly by the time it gets to New York due to colder water. Hurricanes need heat to keep going and we have plenty of that down here in Florida. If you are in a house not a mobile home and stay put and it is a category 1 or 2 it will just be a show outside you will be fine.......
Well, so far it's thundering/lightning... but there are tornado watches in Buffalo, NY. There has NEVER been a tornado here as long as I've known... do you think it'll happen? What are your views on the storm?

Are you talking about the current storm with tornado watch in Buffalo right now, or the hurricane coming this Sunday? Either way, I don't think we're going to get a tornado (it's past me now, I'm in NF) and I also don't think the hurricane is going to reach this far inland. It's all gonna be fine. But with all this crazy weather and other stuff, I'm planning on preparing big time this year in case we get some record breaking blizzard this winter! That's the kind of disaster we have to worry about here, not so much tornadoes and hurricanes, or earthquakes (I hope)!

If you are in a house not a mobile home and stay put and it is a category 1 or 2 it will just be a show outside you will be fine. If you have large trees in front might want to stay away from them during the wind event (even if in your house). But keep up with the local news reports and pay attention. MFG. homesor trailers do not do well in these storms evacuate if your area is going to get wind greater than category 1. Also the National Hurricane Center found at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ is a great resource to see where it is going and wind probability and speeds in your area. We here in Florida are very much used to these events. It will be OK.

Tornados (normal ones) arent as devistating as everyone makes it seem. I live in tn and they always say "A tornado watch has been issued for..." yet, very little damage, if anything, is done. So don't worry about it to much, but stay alert.
