-regan say: Well, scientifically, it does not exist, it is the name for an aspect of curved spacetime. Why really doesnt have an answer apart from why the universe exists; God made it as the home for Man.-Jea say: Realistically,......
lowlevel say: Nobody knows, but it is necessary for our survival.

say: To keep us down to earth

Michael Vicks Dog say: It seems there is no why to questions like that. It is.

Jea say: Realistically, mass attracts mass.
Theistically, magic.

Gravity, I understand is the fundamental attraction between two objects, but what causes this force? has there ever been any explanation or is the fundamental principle which keeps us all tethered to this planet based on absolutely nothing other than the fact we see it happen?

I meant, to every action there is a reaction. The reaction in this case is that we can see gravity pulling us and absolutely every piece of matter towards it, living organisms, air, light, sound, you name it gravity pulls it and nothing can escape it's force NOTHING. But, I am asking if the reaction is gravity what two forces are reacting together to cause gravity. It has to be two things so powerful that together they combine to be able to bend space and time and all matter that comes anywhere near it is sucked in. The fact that the universe is being pulled somewhere slowly shows that there is a greater force of gravity existing on the corner of our universe. Then if that same force that exists in our planet and solar system is pulling everything else towards itself, but then there is an almighty force pulling the ENTIRE universe all back in one direction then that same two forces (or likely more forces) are existing somewhere else. It's like what came first the chicken or the egg. It's also like we are stuck inside of some infinite matrix because if gravity is pulling us, then there is another force of gravity pulling the entire universe in one direction. What is pulling/forcing the universe to be moved and so on and so forth. There is like a continual reaction happening.
